Startup Spotlight: BensenAI

Ever been frustrated when you called a local restaurant or pizza shop to place a takeout order and the line was busy? Well the team at BensenAI is here to change all that so you never have to call back again.

Fresh out of Y Combinators 2019 cohort, Co-Founders David Xiao and Adam Sandler (no, not that Adam Sandler), have rolled out a AI platform that leverages NLP and integrations into a restaurants existing POS to offer a phone answering service. Their full-fledged voice assistant which is custom built for large and enterprise brands so they can power all of their locations to take phone orders, payment and submit that information to the back of the house so they can start prepping the customers meal, all without having to waste your front of the house staff's time, or missing and order because the line was busy.

For smaller restaurants and brands, BensenAI also has a self-service option in which restaurant owners can create automated workflows to text menus and online ordering links to a callers cell phone so they can easily place an order even if your staff are unable to answer the phone. The best part? For both the enterprise concierge service and the small business self-service products, there is no new hardware or software. Bensen works with your existing order system so your team doesn't have to learn a new system or change how they work.

The proof is in the pudding and Bensen delivers. Their customers leveraging their phone answering service see a 30% increase in order volume driven by a 20% recapture of missed phone calls, and the best part, all of it without pulling away your staff. As a matter of fact, Founder & CEO David Xiao told us that their customers have reported a 50% reduction in phone call answering time, freeing up those workers to take care of other important tasks.

We are excited to see what the cute holds for BensenAI, one thing we do know is if what they have already accomplished is any indication, they are poised for success. Over the next decade, services businesses will need to innovate and leverage new tools to help increase customer engagement. Bensen's phone answering service will help restauranteurs streamline their operations, and by seeing order and payment data, Bensen will be well placed to expand their product offering and continue to add value to their customers.
