We all love a good whiteboard. Every office has at least if not more conference rooms where the walls are lined with whiteboards stocked with dry erase markers and erasers. Brainstorming, storyboarding, problem solving, you name it, those rooms are the center of many businesses most crucial discussions and the whiteboard is the medium on which these discussions take place. However, with our current WFH and distributed work dynamic, those in person sessions are currently not available to us, enter MURAL.
MURAL wants to help founders, teams, startups and businesses get those creative and impactful whiteboard sessions going again. Their platform offers digital whiteboards that teams can collaborate on to help promote visual collaboration even while not physically together. Similar to Google Docs or Sheets, you can see your colleagues collaborating live and it allows individuals to contribute and problem-solve, brainstorm, and help make key decisions. And unlike a physical whiteboard which can be tricky to share and save, your digital MURAL can be shared throughout teams and companies and can be saved and iterated on.
The interesting potential for MURAL to open up will be remote founding teams. With our new distributed working dynamic, will colleagues who work remotely find themselves looking to start a new business to solve a problem and use a MURAL board to sketch, brainstorm, and formulate their new venture.
There is a ton of future potential for MURAL to help drive innovation and collaboration within teams. This is echoed by the fact that since January they have raised $140M+ in a Series A and B funding rounds backed by Insight Partners, Tiger Global Management, Gradient Ventures, World Innovation Labs and several other parties. With their recent funding it will be awesome to see over the next 12 month what features they come out with to continue to enable remote and distributed teams collaborate and innovate from afar.
